French meteorologist Dr Florence Rabier has been awarded the International Meteorological Organization (IMO) Prize 2026 of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). She was recognised for her outstanding work in Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) and satellite data assimilation, and for her role in making global weather forecasts more accurate.
