The first meeting of the Sowa-Rigpa Working Group was held in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The group will develop Sowa-Rigpa Pharmacopoeias and Formularies, which are official reference standards for medicines. It will also support quality standards, regulatory requirements and quality assurance of Sowa-Rigpa medicines. Sowa-Rigpa is a traditional system of medicine practised in the Himalayan regions and is one of the systems recognised under AYUSH.
