The Minor Planet Center of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) has identified 2026 ED138 as a possible dwarf planet. The object lies past Pluto's orbit in the trans-Neptunian region, roughly 46 Astronomical Units (AU) from the Sun, with an estimated diameter of 600–1,500 km. The IAU created the dwarf planet category in 2006.

The Union Cabinet has cleared the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Gram Swaraj Yojana to strengthen rural local self-government. It is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme running from 2026–27 to 2030–31 with a total outlay of ₹7,395.55 crore. Gram Panchayats will be supported through integrated planning, capacity building, digital governance, financial accountability and public participation.
The proposed Siang Upper Multipurpose Project, an 11,200-megawatt (MW) scheme on the Siang River in Arunachal Pradesh, is facing resistance from local communities over displacement, livelihoods and cultural heritage.
