The Department of Defence Production (DDP) has notified the 6th Positive Indigenisation List (PIL) of 405 strategically important items with an estimated business potential of ₹3,070 crore. Of these, 389 are for Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) and 16 for the Indian Coast Guard (ICG). The list covers Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), sub-systems, spares, components and raw materials used in platforms like the Su-30MKI, Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), T-72, T-90 tanks and warships. They will be developed via Make procedures and in-house R&D, then bought from Indian vendors, especially MSMEs and startups. Details are on the SRIJAN Defence Portal, launched in August 2020.
