TRAI launches Digital Connectivity Rating (DCR) Platform and app to rate indoor connectivity of properties

Save

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has launched the Digital Connectivity Rating (DCR) Platform and mobile app to assess indoor digital connectivity in properties across India. Administered by TRAI under the Ministry of Communications, it follows the TRAI (Rating of Properties for Digital Connectivity) Regulations, 2024, amended in May 2026. It evaluates fibre readiness, 4G/5G coverage, Wi-Fi and in-building connectivity, including common areas, lifts and basements. Registered Digital Connectivity Rating Agencies (DCRAs) run on-site signal and speed tests through the app; reports are verified with Aadhaar-based eSign and QR-coded certificates allow public checks. The aim is to make connectivity a measurable property feature.
