Coastal Local Area Bank Limited has been included in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, gaining Scheduled Bank status through an RBI notification. Headquartered in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, and operating for 26 years, it runs 57 branches across 12 districts. It recently got RBI approval to add 13 branches covering Vizianagaram and Prakasam in Andhra Pradesh and Khammam in Telangana. The new status should help it attract new customers and institutional depositors and raise CASA deposits.
