The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh has launched the Gaudham Yojana, under which about 1,460 shelters will be set up across the State for stray and abandoned cattle. The scheme seeks to ensure their protection, housing, feeding and scientific management. It combines traditional cow protection with better livestock management and is also expected to support the rural economy.
