The Government of India has declared the Shahzad Bhatti Network a terrorist organisation under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) cited the network's role in violence, unrest and activities harming national security, and accused it of promoting extremist ideologies linked to terrorism. The UAPA empowers the government to act against groups involved in or supporting terrorist acts, and authorities will now move to freeze the network's assets and block any funding or support for it within India.
