The Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India (CCIC) has launched ‘Soul Threads’, its first-ever heritage designer collection. The collection is intended to promote India’s rich artisanal heritage and to support weavers by taking traditional crafts and textiles to a wider market through designer creations. CCIC is a government undertaking that markets Indian handicrafts and handlooms. The initiative forms part of wider efforts to sustain livelihoods in the handloom and handicraft sectors.
