Two new schemes for persons with disabilities were announced in the Union Budget 2026-27. Divyangjan Kaushal Yojana will offer customised, industry-oriented training in IT, AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics), hospitality and food & beverages, focusing on task-based roles suited to different disabilities. Divyang Sahara Yojana aims to ensure timely access to quality assistive devices, with ALIMCO supported to expand production, R&D and AI integration. PM Divyasha Kendras will be strengthened and retail-style Assistive Technology Marts set up for Divyangjans and senior citizens.
