Everything is Achievable Through Hard Work: The Legacy of BRO
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) observed its Raising Day on May 7, 2026. Established in 1960 under the Ministry of Defence, BRO has been the backbone of India's strategic infrastructure, building high-altitude roads, tunnels, and bridges in the most remote border regions.
Major Achievements & Projects:
- Strategic Tunnels: Notable projects include the Sela Tunnel (Arunachal Pradesh) and the upcoming Shinkun La Tunnel (Ladakh), designed for all-weather connectivity.
- Motto: Guided by the Sanskrit phrase “Shramena Sarvam Sadhyam” (Hard work can achieve everything).
- Operational Scope: BRO operates in snow-bound and difficult terrains to ensure national security and economic integration of border communities.
