The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) published the Annual Survey of Industries (ASI) 2024–25. Registered manufacturing units rose to 2.67 lakh and total employment grew 7.19% to 2.10 crore. Gross Value Added (GVA) went up 9.59%, fixed capital 10.54%, industrial output 7.81% and total emoluments to workers 12.08%. Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana together held about 56% of manufacturing employment. Basic metals, motor vehicles, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and food products accounted for more than 45% of manufacturing GVA.
