Dong village in Arunachal Pradesh's Anjaw district held the state's first New Year Sunrise Festival in 2026, on the theme 'First to Rise, First to Celebrate'. Dong is India's easternmost village and the first place in the country to see the sunrise each day. The highlight was 'Alo Prabhat - Dance of the Dawn', performed by the Meyor and Mishmi tribes.
