The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) enabled the first-ever commercial shipment of GI-tagged Mithila Makhana from Bihar to Australia by sea. Mithila Makhana is an aquatic fox nut produced mainly in Bihar's Mithila region and earned its Geographical Indication (GI) tag in 2022.
