The Income Tax Department has introduced 'Kar Saathi', a chatbot platform powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI). The tool guides taxpayers through routine tasks such as filing tax returns, meeting compliance requirements, completing e-verification and seeking grievance support.
By offering automated help, the platform aims to make tax services quicker and easier to access, so that basic queries can be resolved without visiting an office. The launch forms part of the broader effort to digitise and simplify tax administration in India.
