The Adani Group has entered nuclear power following the SHANTI (Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear Energy for Transforming India) Act, 2025, with Adani Power forming a wholly owned subsidiary, Adani Atomic Energy Limited. The Act replaces the Atomic Energy Act and lets private companies run nuclear plants and partner with foreign technology providers. India has about 8.8 GW of nuclear capacity, supplying around 3% of electricity, and aims for 32 GW within the next decade.
