A total of 64 Parliamentary Friendship Groups have been set up in the 18th Lok Sabha to deepen ties with other countries. Three-term MP Shrikant Eknath Shinde became the youngest MP nominated to head a group, the India-Indonesia Parliamentary Friendship Group, which will work on cultural, economic and social links. NCP MP Supriya Sule leads the India-Singapore group. Shrikant Shinde, son of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, had earlier led an Indian parliamentary delegation to the UAE, Sierra Leone, Liberia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo in May 2025.
