Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) has commissioned a 3.37 Gigawatt-hour (GWh) Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Khavda in Gujarat. With this, the facility has become the world's largest single-location battery storage system outside China. A BESS stores electricity in batteries so that power generated from renewable sources such as solar and wind can be supplied when generation is low, improving grid stability. The project is significant for India's clean-energy transition and its growing renewable capacity.
