The Government of India has standardised the names of 28 geographical features in Ladakh on the official Survey of India map. They comprise 11 peaks, 5 mountains, 6 land areas, 2 glaciers, 2 passes, 1 valley, 1 river, 1 lake and 1 other water body. Newly standardised names include Atisha Giri, Kanishka Peak, Zorawar Peak, Shiva Ri, Karun Pir, Drak Karpo and Jolmori. Parpik and Skamri are listed as glaciers, Chapchingal Pass and Shachmirk Pass as passes, along with Shkorga Valley, Yangpa River, Guru Rinpoche Lake and a Hot Spring.
