The Office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India has made the helpline number 1855 operational across the country for Census 2027. The helpline is meant to assist citizens with queries related to the census exercise. The Office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner functions under the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and is responsible for conducting the decennial census. Census 2027 will be the first census held in India after 2011.
