The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has revised India's 2026–27 growth projection upward to 7.1%, from 6.3% estimated in June 2026. It credited strong domestic demand and government policies for helping India absorb the impact of the West Asia crisis. Growth is expected to ease in the second half of 2026–27 due to weaker purchasing power and slow to 6.5% in 2027–28, with gradual recovery in 2027. Other agencies also raised their 2026–27 estimates: S&P Global and Moody's Ratings to 7%, and Fitch Ratings to 6.9%.
