By the close of 2026, visitors should be able to enter the first gallery of the Yuge Yugeen Bharat National Museum. The Ministry of Culture is creating the museum as part of the Central Vista Redevelopment Project, and it will take the place of the existing National Museum, occupying North Block and South Block in New Delhi. Its displays will trace 5,000 years of Indian civilisation, featuring Indus Valley artefacts, sculptures from the Gupta era and Chola bronzes. France is partnering with India in developing the museum.
