The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has released the Final Estimates for 2024–25 and the First Advance Estimates for 2025–26 of horticulture crops. In 2024–25, the area under horticulture rose to 301.36 lakh hectares and output reached 3,707.38 lakh tonnes, with fruits at 1,176.49 lakh tonnes and vegetables at 2,177.97 lakh tonnes. Production for 2025–26 is projected at 3,708.46 lakh tonnes. Banana, mango, onion, potato and tomato saw major gains, while spices, flowers and medicinal plants also grew, aided by better technology and value chains.
