The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) released a new series of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) estimates with 2022-23 as the base year, replacing the 2011-12 series. The revision improves accuracy by drawing on updated data from GST, the Public Finance Management System (PFMS), the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) and household surveys. Real GDP for FY 2025-26 is estimated at ₹322.58 lakh crore, growing 7.6%, while nominal GDP is ₹345.47 lakh crore, up 8.6%. A back series from 1950-51 will be released by December 2026.
