The Ministry of Cooperation has launched White Revolution 2.0 to raise milk procurement by 50% in five years, reaching 1,007 lakh kg per day by 2028-29. About 75,000 new Dairy Cooperative Societies will be set up and 46,422 existing ones strengthened, with funding from the National Dairy Development Programme 2.0 of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying. Since women form nearly 70% of the dairy workforce, the scheme focuses on bringing more women farmers into cooperatives and boosting rural incomes and nutrition.
