A multilingual Hoysala inscription from the 12th century, during the reign of Narasimha I, was found at the Sri Mahalakshmi Temple in K. Bettahalli village, Pandavapura taluk, Mandya district, Karnataka. Carved in nine lines on a white granite slab in Kannada script, it uses Kannada, Tamil and Sanskrit. It records a land grant by military commander (Dandanayaka) Karikudi Tillai Koottandi for rituals at the Sri Yadava Narayana temple, today's Kere Tonnuru.
