India figures among the ten best-performing emerging markets on AI (Artificial Intelligence) readiness, per a World Bank report released in October 2026 under the title "India and Artificial Intelligence: Seizing the Development Opportunity". Private AI investment in India rose to USD 4.1 billion in 2025, up from USD 1.2 billion a year earlier. Roughly 23% of Indian firms say they use AI in some form, against about 43% in the United States. India's Global Capability Centres (GCCs) employed 2.36 million people in 2025, against 1.9 million in 2024. The Bank lifted its FY27 growth projection for India to 7.1% and urged better AI infrastructure, skills, business climate and access.
