Assam's Nameri Tiger Reserve has been granted Conservation Assured Tiger Standards (CA|TS) Approved status in recognition of how it protects tigers and manages its protected area. CA|TS is an internationally accepted framework that judges how a reserve is run, looking at protection of wildlife, management of habitat, monitoring, administration and the involvement of communities.

Ladakh LG flags off India's first snow leopard-focused high-altitude wildlife safari

Ladakh's Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena has launched India's first high-altitude wildlife safari built around snow leopard trails. It is run by the Snow Leopard and High-Altitude Nature Conservation (SHAN) Society together with the Forest Department of the Union Territory. Routes take visitors through Hemis National Park, Changthang and the Karakoram Wildlife Sanctuary, besides other parts of Ladakh.

Indian Coast Guard conducts 12th National Maritime Search and Rescue Exercise SAREX-2026 off Paradip

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is staging SAREX-2026, the 12th edition of the National Maritime Search and Rescue Exercise. This year the drill is being held in the waters off the Paradip coast in Odisha. SAREX is the national-level exercise through which the Coast Guard tests maritime search and rescue at sea, and the 2026 round is its twelfth.

NABKISAN Finance lists India's first WASH-dedicated social bond on NSE

NABKISAN Finance Limited has listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) the first social bond in India devoted solely to the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector. The issue mobilised ₹180 crore for a five-year term and will mature in September 2031. Proceeds will back projects for safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene in rural and underserved communities.

UCIL plans to double India's uranium output by 2036

Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) aims to double uranium production by 2036 through new mines and by recovering uranium from copper residues, supporting India's nuclear power capacity of about 9 GW. UCIL meets roughly one-third of uranium needs from domestic sources; the rest is imported as Indian reserves are limited and low-grade.

MoSPI releases Annual Survey of Industries 2024–25 results

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) published the Annual Survey of Industries (ASI) 2024–25. Registered manufacturing units rose to 2.67 lakh and total employment grew 7.19% to 2.10 crore. Gross Value Added (GVA) went up 9.59%, fixed capital 10.54%, industrial output 7.81% and total emoluments to workers 12.08%.
